England's Teaching Standard

England has teaching standards which set the minimum requirement for teaching conduct and practice. The teaching standards are issued by law and you must follow them unless there is a good reason not too. This guidance is for school leaders, school staff and governing bodies - as these professions would need to use the standard the most. This is because the standard defines the minimum level of practice for trainees and teachers in order to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS).
